Wax - Testing the material

Trying to melt the wax using a magnifying glass.

The process of making the pafin wax pieces. I was trying to contain areas of pigment which could then mix with the wax when it is melting.

Transformative Sculpture - Concept

I would like to create a sculpture based on the history of the building and related to the fire. I would like to focus on the mixing of two different materials that merge to form a new one. The idea is to create a piece that embodies our perception of space though time. A piece which lives in the present, gathers the past and holds the future. A sculpture that uses the natural light of the sun to transform itself day after day. I would like to use wax as my main material as it has a low melting temperature.

Experimental Paintings

These paintings represent two different materials merging to form a new one. They are watercolour paintings covered with clear resin.

The Farmiloe building - My Site

Thanks to Tim Farmiloe, I was able to gain access to my site. During the visit I found out that the building was put up as the strongest building in London following the fire that destroyed the old warehouses. Tim was not entirely sure of what the use of the building was when it was first used, but re rekons that they may have done stained glass windows and regular windows, and that there was probbly a paint shop close by where they would have sold lead paint and pigments that were fabricated on site.
