Miklós Bölcskey - Camera Obscura Performance

In his performance, Miklós Bölcskey involves the audience to create the dark space for the image: he asks participants to hold a large black tarp. It is in this space that the fleeting images of the outside world become visible, as they are projected on smoke, a translucent material or a bottle. These interesting, anamorphic images of reality can even be recorded with a digital camera, establishing a curious relationship between darkness, light and vision, and the laws of physics on the one hand, and digital technology on the other, a method that dispenses with the century-old procedure of developing images that are wrapped in darkness.

The London 2012 Olympic games is the inspiration for this installation created by MA NEW MEDIA ART and DESIGN students from Thames Valley University.
The tiny beat of the human heart is transformed into sth great. The water droplets ripple outwards in the manifestation of a perpetually moving image of the iconic symbol of the Olympic rings.

Kathy Taylor's recent work investigates particular domestic habits and aspects of being English. Her pieces about tea allude to a preoccupation with class, and the traces and stains of imperial history. Traditional 'English' afternoon tea has historically been associated with particular forms of, so-called, proper behaviour rituals. Is using a teabag in a silver teapot acceptable? And can our class origins still be identified by our habits, customs and the objects that lurk in our household cabinets?

Flutter is a new interactive artwork that explores the viewer's encounter with a rabble of virtual butterflies. It reflects an ongoing fascination with the motion of a butterfly's flight and the iridescent reflections and scattering of light by the scales on a butterfly's wing.
